Faith, Storytelling, and Local Vendors Come Together in a Two-Day Cultural Stage Play in Bowie, from Nov.1–2nd

Written by Staff Writer-Now Moments TIMES

This November, art and heritage take center stage at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts, where a new two-day experience blends live theater with a marketplace full of local creativity. On Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2, Milolaa Productions will present KÁDÀRÁ, an original stage play, along with the Milolaa Marketplace Pop-Up bringing culture, storytelling, and small business to one place.

KÁDÀRÁ is set in the old Yoruba Kingdom, following a dramatic narrative of love, resilience, hope, and destiny. Designed for all ages, the play uses visual storytelling and character-driven scenes to deliver a meaningful message that honors African roots while offering something universal to every guest. From the setting to the costumes and choreography, each scene carries a sense of purpose and care.

The production is more than just a show,it’s part of a broader push to bring cultural experiences to the DMV in a way that connects people to something deeper. That vision also comes to life through the Milolaa Marketplace Pop-Up, a curated vendor space that opens before and after each performance. The Market Place Pop-up will feature local small businesses selling art, handmade goods, clothing, and food, giving attendees a chance to support local entrepreneurs in a family-friendly setting.

The dual experience gives the weekend a different feel from a typical play or shopping event. Instead of coming and going, attendees are encouraged to stay, engage, and take in the full atmosphere.

It’s a rhythm that fits the spirit of community-building slow enough to enjoy but full of movement, energy, and personal connection.

Milolaa Productions, the group behind the weekend, has focused on creating purpose-driven events that highlight culture through art, storytelling, and entrepreneurship. KÁDÀRÁ is one of their most anticipated projects to date, and the production’s theme of destiny aligns closely with the meaning of its title.

For families, couples, church groups, and individuals looking for something meaningful to attend, this weekend provides something different from the usual outing. It’s a chance to gather and experience layered storytelling, discover local brands, and connect to cultural themes in a setting built for reflection, celebration, and commerce.

Whether you’re attending to watch the play, support a vendor, or enjoy both, the experience is structured to give each guest a full view of what modern cultural storytelling can look like.

Doors open at 12:30 PM on both Saturday and Sunday, with the marketplace and performances timed to allow flow between shopping and seating.
