Inside the International Women’s Day Soirée Bringing Creatives Together in Baltimore on March 5th

A room filled with founders, artists, technologists, and creative entrepreneurs is what guests will find at the International Women’s Day Soirée hosted by Monument Women’s Creative Alliance.

Now in its fourth year, the gathering brings together women working across creative and professional industries for an evening centered on shared ideas, leadership insight, and community support. The event takes place on March 5th at Towson University’s Student Union Ballroom, creating space for professionals whose work rarely overlaps to meet in the same setting.

Monument Women’s Creative Alliance, often referred to as MWCA, has grown into a network connecting women across more than twenty creative sectors. Designers, entrepreneurs, marketers, and technologists move through the same community, sharing resources and opportunities that extend beyond a single event.

At gatherings like this, the energy tends to shift quickly once people arrive. Conversations move easily between introductions, business ideas, and creative projects, often turning a simple introduction into the start of a collaboration. For many attendees, the value of the evening comes from finally meeting people whose work they have heard about but never crossed paths with in person.

The annual soirée has become the organization’s signature gathering, bringing together women at different stages of their careers in a setting that encourages open conversation and shared learning.

The program opens with remarks from Aalliyeh Clinton, founder of Monneah’s Engineered Materials, LLC. The keynote address will be delivered by Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, President and CEO of Global Refuge. A panel moderated by Erin Moran will feature Dr. Arti Santhanam, Airen Washington, and Smitha Gopal, offering perspectives on leadership, entrepreneurship, and building sustainable careers across evolving industries.

Alongside the speaking program, the ballroom will host a marketplace featuring more than twenty women-owned businesses. Jewelry designers, wellness founders, lifestyle brands, and service entrepreneurs will share space throughout the evening, allowing guests to discover local brands while meeting the founders behind them.

For many vendors, the evening becomes more than a showcase. It often marks the beginning of new partnerships, future clients, and ongoing support within the community.

Part of the event’s proceeds will benefit Marian House, a Baltimore nonprofit that provides housing and supportive services for women and children working toward stability and independence.

As Baltimore’s creative and entrepreneurial landscape continues to expand, gatherings like the International Women’s Day Soirée offer something increasingly valuable: a place where women building businesses, ideas, and careers can step into the same room, exchange knowledge, and leave with relationships that continue long after the evening ends.
